HOW TO CUSTOMIZE THIS MOD FOR PERSONAL USE: Add your own head, torso, or lower segment.

1) Choose a model which you would like to customize. We will assume you plan to make one full skin, which will be separated into each of three segments: head, torso, and lower.

2) Modify the textures to suit your needs/wants. Save them with new names. For instance if the original texture was torso.jpg, save it with your initials on the end or something else unique - for instance I might use torso_if.jpg.

3) Once you have all your new textures, extract three .skin files from the folder in this mod -- a head.skin, a torso.skin, and a lower.skin -- so I would extract head_if1.skin, torso_if1.skin, and lower_if1.skin.

4) Open each .skin file and change JUST the texture names to match your new ones. Leave the pathways intact.

5) Save this .skin as something unique. As you can see, my "unique" label are my initials (if1, if2, etc). You could use your initials, which will ensure that any other mods you have that might also add variants to the species menu will not conflict with yours. So if your name is Darth Vader, you might have head_dv1.skin, torso_dv1.skin, and lower_dv1.skin.

6) IMPORTANT STEP! You *must* make icons for each new .skin file you make. They also must be named the same as the .skin file, except with an icon_ in front. So if we have head_dv1.skin, the icon to go with it must be icon_head_dv1.skin. Without icons your new parts will not show up in the menu, so don't forget them!

7) Put all of the new textures, .skin files, and icons into the folder of the model you are working with. If these are meant to be new parts for the Jedi model, put them in the jedi folder. If you made rockin' new armor for Boba Fett, put them in the boba_fett folder. You ought to get the idea.

8) Save the PK3 and enjoy. If you're having trouble with this (or want to make your skin a stand-alone customizable skin instead of just a part of one of these models), consult the full tutorial (http://jediknight2.filefront.com/info/SPSpecies) or ask on the forums (http://forums.filefront.com/sw-jk3-modding-editing-528/).
